Our story

Two neighbors. Two countries. One toolkit.

Eh to Z Tech started the way good ideas usually do — over a fence, between two people who kept getting asked to fix everyone else’s Wi‑Fi.

Pat is a Metro Detroit native. Chris is Canadian. They’re next-door neighbors, both experienced IT professionals, and both the person every friend and family member calls when the internet goes down.

After one too many conversations about rushed installs, mystery equipment, and tech “help” that left people more confused than before, they decided to do something about it: build the kind of technology company they’d want to hire themselves.

The Great Lakes connect Michigan and Canada — and they connect us, too. Different roots, same values: show up when you say you will, do the work right, explain it clearly, and leave the place cleaner than you found it.

— Pat & Chris

Meet the founders

The Eh and the Z.

Pat

Co-Founder

Metro Detroit, Michigan

Born and raised in Metro Detroit, where “the D” is a direction and Coney dogs are a food group. Pat has spent years in hands-on IT keeping networks, systems, and people up and running — and brings the Motor City work ethic to every install.

NetworkingCamerasBusiness IT

“Believes a good cable run should be a work of art.”

Chris

Co-Founder

Canada

A proud Canadian who ended up as Pat’s neighbor — and, eventually, business partner. Chris brings years of IT experience, a calm troubleshooting style, and an almost supernatural ability to say “sorry” to a printer before fixing it.

Servers & backupsTroubleshootingSmart home

“Has never once met a problem that couldn’t wait for a double-double.”

The name

From Eh to Zee.

It’s “A to Z” — everything, start to finish — with a Canadian “eh” at the front and the American pronunciation of “Z” at the end. One name, two accents, the full alphabet of tech.

Settle the debate:

Pat approves. Chris is too polite to argue. Mostly.

Where we’re headed

Starting small. Building it right.

We’re keeping our day jobs while we grow, which means we only take on work we can do exceptionally well. Here’s the plan.

Now

Neighbors with a toolkit

Taking on residential and small-business projects evenings and weekends — carefully chosen, done exceptionally well.

Next

Growing the roster

More business clients, repeat projects, and maintenance check-ins for the homes and offices we’ve already set up.

Future

Managed IT services

Proactive monitoring, patching, backups, and help desk plans — a full-service IT partner for the Great Lakes region.

Different roots. Same solutions.

Be one of our first customers.

We’re early, which means you get the founders themselves on every job. That won’t always be the case — and we kind of love that it is right now.
